by Luke Watkins I have just recently completed my level 3 Teaching Assistant course, and I achieved a Pass with Merit! :) All the support my tutor gave me was unbelievable and without him I wouldn't of completed the course. Brilliant support, Great feedback and I would recomend anyone who is thinking of becoming a Teachers Assistant to do it with Cambridge Open College. I am hoping to get a work placement at the local school, where i help each day. I thoroughly enjoyed this course. Its challenging and so very interesting. My marks I have gained and the wonderful comments from my tutor keeps me on task and working hard. I would like to go onto the Higher Level Course once I pass my Level 3. My marks I have gained so far are as follows which I am very proud of: 1 pass, 1 merit and 7 distinctions!!!
The Course offers lots of help via the telephone, email, so you have always someone to turn to if you need any extra help with questions. I would definately recommend this course to somebody who wishes to start a career in education. Thank you to Ken my tutor.

by Teresa Salthouse Hello. I am really pleased I enrolled on this course. I am currently on module ten out of twelve and have found it increasingly interesting. The course is a lot more involved than I anticipated and I have learnt a lot from doing it. Also an appealing factor was that there is no time limit on completing the course. This was an important factor for me in choosing the course because I work full time. I have always had very positive and encouraging feedback from my tutor which I fully appreciate. For anyone embarking on this course, the only thing I would recommend, if you have the spare time, would be to try to get a voluntary work placement in a school environment, even for one afternoon a week maybe. I do work with children in a childminding environment but I do think a school environment could benefit you especially later on in the course. That said, a lot of the things I have learnt on the course has been very beneficial to my environment and has certainly made me think and question my responses to all the lovely children I look after.

My tutor gave me all support that i needed. He always encourage me to carry on and finish my course. I was teacher in Brazil for more than 15 years, when i come to London i just stopped to teach because i neede to do something different. When i waschecking some courses i found teaching assistant at Cambridge, i didn't think twice, i range and in the next day my course was delivered and me very happy to start a new challenge in my life. The course was perfect to me. I recomend to everyone that was or want to be teacher or teacher assistant.I am excited to start my new course at Cambridge Child care.
A Good Way of Getting Started
by Berni This is an easy to manage course which you can do as and when you have time, but whenever a module is sent off it is always marked very quickly. Help is always available at the end of the phone, and encouragement comes in a letter as a response to each module. Starting off with no experience or knowledge in the subject at all, I found the course very comprehensive and practical, starting off with basics and getting more complex as it went on. I have just finished it and it has given me the confidence to start applying for jobs. I'm very glad I did it.

Becoming a TA seemed the perfect choice so I enrolled on this course as it allows me to study at my own pace and doesn't interfere with my time with my daughter..

Dont know how anyone not working/volunteering in a school would manage some of the questions though so would recommend you volunteer if not doing so already. Brilliant Course
by NIcola Pritchard I am very glad I did my Level 3 Diploma in Teaching Assistant, as it gave me the confidence to apply for jobs. The tutors were very supportive and very willing to give a reference once you have completed your NVQ. I would definitely recommend this course but would also emphasise the importance of gaining experience in the classroom as well.
On my final module
by Julie I am nearly finished my course now. When I enrolled back in May I phoned 6 schools before I got a volunteer job with a primary school. I have been with them since then. I started doing 4 hours a week on a Friday, as a volunteer, and now I have been given a part time post of 15 hours a week, and I get paid Pro Rata.
Without a doubt I would not have got my job without me doing this L3 course.

Quick Marking!!!
by Pam Wakel I finished my course about 2 months ago and genuinely enjoyed studying it. I enrolled on the 12 module course and it took me around 2 1/2 months to complete. I work shift work so most of my support was done via e-mail and this worked out very well for me. I was really happy at the quick marking from my tutor. It is so good to get your results within a day or two! I recommend this course to anyone who wants to learn more about becoming a teaching assistant.

Interesting and Challenging
by Toni It has been my dream to become a teacher and I was always a bit worried that I would not have the ability to complete a qualification. This is my first learning experience since leaving school many years ago and I was a bit nervous before starting it but I chatted to my tutor and he was very reassuring.

Great Course
by Pam Wakely Cambridge proved to me that distance learning is good. I was able to phone my tutor when I needed help and my results letter usually arrived within 4 or 5 days, a lot quicker than the last place I studied with.

Hello. I am really pleased I enrolled on this course. I am currently on module ten out of twelve and have found it increasingly interesting. The course is a lot more involved than I anticipated and I have learnt a lot from doing it. Also an appealing factor was that there is no time limit on completing the course. This was an important factor for me in choosing the course because I work full time. I have always had very positive and encouraging feedback from my tutor which I fully appreciate. For anyone embarking on this course, the only thing I would recommend, if you have the spare time, would be to try to get a voluntary work placement in a school environment, even for one afternoon a week maybe. I do work with children in a childminding environment but I do think a school environment could benefit you especially later on in the course. That said, a lot of the things I have learnt on the course has been very beneficial to my environment and has certainly made me think and question my responses to all the lovely children I look after.

I am currently finishing my Teaching assistant course. The course is fantastic. In each module i have been learning different matter that all are complementary. My tutor gave me all support that i needed. He always encourage me to carry on and finish my course. I was teacher in Brazil for more than 15 years, when i come to London i just stopped to teach because i neede to do something different. When i waschecking some courses i found teaching assistant at Cambridge, i didn't think twice, i range and in the next day my course was delivered and me very happy to start a new challenge in my life. A Good Way of Getting Started
This is an easy to manage course which you can do as and when you have time, but whenever a module is sent off it is always marked very quickly. Help is always available at the end of the phone, and encouragement comes in a letter as a response to each module. Starting off with no experience or knowledge in the subject at all, I found the course very comprehensive and practical, starting off with basics and getting more complex as it went on. I have just finished it and it has given me the confidence to start applying for jobs. I'm very glad I did it.

When applying for the course I was a little bit apprehensive as the staff wouldn't be there for me to interactive with in person.

Very helpful when I e mailed for support, quick to mark assignments, took me about 6 months to complete. Dont know how anyone not working/volunteering in a school would manage some of the questions though so would recommend you volunteer if not doing so already. Have recommended to a friend and I dont do that often!

Brilliant Course
I am very glad I did my Level 3 Diploma in Teaching Assistant, as it gave me the confidence to apply for jobs. The tutors were very supportive and very willing to give a reference once you have completed your NVQ. I would definitely recommend this course but would also emphasise the importance of gaining experience in the classroom as well.
On my final module
I am nearly finished my course now. When I enrolled back in May I phoned 6 schools before I got a volunteer job with a primary school. I have been with them since then. I started doing 4 hours a week on a Friday, as a volunteer, and now I have been given a part time post of 15 hours a week, and I get paid Pro Rata.
Without a doubt I would not have got my job without me doing this L3 course.

Quick Marking!!!
I finished my course about 2 months ago and genuinely enjoyed studying it. I enrolled on the 12 module course and it took me around 2 1/2 months to complete. I work shift work so most of my support was done via e-mail and this worked out very well for me. I was really happy at the quick marking from my tutor. It is so good to get your results within a day or two! I recommend this course to anyone who wants to learn more about becoming a teaching assistant.

Interesting and Challenging
It has been my dream to become a teacher and I was always a bit worried that I would not have the ability to complete a qualification. This is my first learning experience since leaving school many years ago and I was a bit nervous before starting it but I chatted to my tutor and he was very reassuring.
